Angels, Humans and Animals

Qwud like to ask: it has been said that humans can be better than angels and worst then animals, why so, grateful for clarifications.

ABismillaahi walĥamdulillaahi waŝŝalaatu wassalaamu ‘alaa rasoolillaahi

Assalaamu Alaykum,

Angels can only do the right things which represent perfect justice and fairness. Animals are pre-programmed only to fulfil their carnal needs to survive. Human beings have been given freedom to decide. Using their freedom, they can do better than expected, give more than what others deserve, forgive instead of seeking retribution or justice, and respond in the best manner to the evil behaviour of others. Choosing to excel in these qualities makes them better than angels. On the other hand, they can use their freedom only to focus on maximizing their carnal desires and pleasures. When they do so, they usually transgress on the rights of others and exceed the limits. In this way, they become worse than animals who do only as much as their survival requires.

I hope you find this brief note is helpful.
